Cottage Grove Invitational

Last Saturday we traveled to Cottage Grove for their annual tournament. There were 31 schools there and it was crowded. It was a long day but it was so exciting I hardly noticed the time.
I am not sure of all the stats but I will try to get most of it right. Help Coach!!!!!!!!
I am too busy taking pictures to keep up on all the wins. I just know after the first round we were doing good with I believe 7 pins.
Our team wrestled very well and I know the other schools were noticing how good our team looked.
We had 8 that placed 1st. Bo Younker, 2nd. Brian Bowers & Bruce Balcita 3rd. Brandon Bowers
4th. Guy Russell, 5th Tim Wilson & Joe Baynes.
1st. Place TEAM!!!!!!!!!!! I believe I even saw a smile on Coach Maddux................
We are so proud of our team and we are looking forward to districts and state............

Hilda Younker posted a Thank-You in the comment section of the last post but I wanted to add it here as well.
Thank you parents who came to the meeting. Those of you who couldn't come, please call Doug to tell us what you can help with. The meeting went very well. We still need volunteer's to bring food for the hospitality room, the bake sale, and to help all day. We have several volunteers who don't even have kids in the program any more!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's all do what we can, even if it is just a little. We all know that there are times in our lives when we can't help, so those of us who can, please do :) And if you can't, we love you being there for the kids!

Sorry to report that Kyle Archuleta broke his finger at practice last night and won't be able to wrestle until next year. he has to really take care of it or he won't be able to ride bulls in the rodeo this summer either. Take good care of yourself Kyle because I like watching you ride too.
I will see all of you on Saturday for another exciting day of wrestling.

League Champions

Thursday night we traveled to our last dual of the year. We won and are now the League champions. There were some great matches there and and just the 1st. step in our journey to win Districts and on to state. This was Kyle's first dual and he did awesome. I am thrilled to have Kyle join the team. He is my nephew and that means I will be around for at least another 2 years and by then I will have gotten to know more of the kids and I will be there for more years. Well that's not so bad because I really enjoy watching you boys wrestle and I am so proud of our team and the success they have had this year so far. Oh O.K. I will quit before I get all sentimental and babble on and on...... We had a GREAT tournament at Cottage Grove this week-end and I will talk more about that and post the pictures soon.
I have started posting them like this because I can post so much more photo's and I take so many it is hard to choose which ones to use so this way I can use them all. Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them......
